We’ll be back! Not your ordinary farm stay, you even get a fully cooked breakfast with fresh farm eggs, and if you choose a lovely kitty cat might stay overnight in your room to keep your feet warm. So many animals that are all great with kids. And the kids love to help with the morning feeds. There’s also a wonderful fire pit with bbq and all the extras you need to cook a meal. Just bring your own sausages! They really provide everything you could want, from tea and coffee to decent brand shampoo and conditioner. It was  really interesting and cosy to stay in an actual straw house. We all highly recommend this beautiful BnB/farm stay.

This is our best family holiday ever and we have had some spectacular holidays. There was something for everyone. The hosts are wonderful, and the breakfasts, some of the best we have EVER eaten anywhere. So much to see and do in the area. And we miss the animals desperately!!

Two weeks ago we have a much anticipated trip to the NT to see the night skies. We were told they were some of the best in the country. What we didn't know was that the night skies are better at the Straw House Farm in Stanthorpe!! They were incredible. Everything about our stay was perfect. The attention to every detail by the hosts was beyond great. We have booked to come again.

Amazing hospitality! Very yummy breakfast both mornings. Beautiful setting and welcoming accommodation. Bed was super comfy. We were travelling with our 3 year old and Anna put out toys for her, which was such a lovely touch. We also had our dog with us and was great to have a space where he could run around. It was great having all the farm animals to say hello to, especially the baby goats!

This place was brilliant - never stayed anywhere with so much attention to detail. I had never met a goat before and I could not stay away. They are magnificent. Thanks for everything a great bucket list experience and such good value for what we received. We have booked in to visit again.

Everything about the Straw House Farm Bed and Breakfast was 5 star!!  The accommodation is beautiful and so carefully fitted out. The property is gorgeous. We spent a  night cooking at the fire pit under the stars and it was incredible. The animals are wonderful we rushed "home" every night to help put them to bed. The breakfasts were equal to or better than any restaurant we've ever been to.

We're always grateful being able to come back to the cottage and be warm, enjoy beautiful coffee's, tea and milo! We’ve stayed at your Straw House in summer and now winter! Next trip we'll make a night of it around the fire pit too, winter or summer.  By the way, those brownies were amazing and just when we thought nothing would top it, came the best banana bread ever! We packed the rest of it for the road trip😋 Looking forward to coming back! Miss you already. You’re like a family we keep wanting to go back to!

We had a lovely 3 nights in the Tiny House. The bed was comfortable, the food was delicious and our room was snug and warm. Waking up and enjoying breakfast on the deck in the sun was just so relaxing and lovely. And…..the entertainment: watching the goats jump and play, being visited by excited happy puppy dogs and watching the cows and alpacas begin their daily march around the paddock made our stay at The Straw House perfect. Thanks for having us 😌

Nothing could have prepared us for how delightful our stay was at The Straw House!
From the warm and genuine welcome, farm tour and perfectly appointed cottage to the riotously funny and quirky farm critters, we were simply smitten.
The personal touches: home made goodies on arrival, delicious breakfasts cooked by Anna and Tony, and the very real conversations left us knowing we would return.
We cannot recommend The Straw House highly enough!

The Tiny House was the most perfect weekend for us. The service was fantastic and it had everything we needed, plus so much more! The big breakfasts were delicious and so were the freshly baked brownies they’d cooked for us on arrival. The best part was all of the animals, we loved sitting on the deck watching them. 

We’ll be recommending the Straw House to all of our friends and family.

Straw House BnB is a property we'll definitely return to. We found the cottage to be comfortable, cool and cosy. It offers tranquil surroundings and we had fun with the highland cattle, alpacas, goats and chooks. We also cycled in the orchard and on nearby bike tracks. Their home cooked breakfasts are absolutely delicious! Thank you!

The accommodation was delightful. A beautiful room amongst a beautiful setting. Anna and Tony were wonderful hosts and so kind. On arrival, we were shown to our room and then around the farm where we were able to feed and visit the cattle, alpacas, goats and chickens as we please. 

It is hard to put into words but this B&B offered more than cute accommodation. The rooms were filled with love and the farm and animals were in a happy place. This gave our entire stay the most fulfilling feeling. This was a true country escape, where our minds could relax and we were made to feel like we were welcome and at home.

And as a side note, the breakfasts provided were all homemade and absolutely delicious. Will definitely be visiting again.

We had a wonderful stay with our two pups at the straw house cottage. A beautiful farm, friendly animals, gorgeous cottage that is immaculately presented with beautiful gardens and complete with big comfy bed and coffee machine!
Highlights were definitely the home baked treats on arrival and breakfast each day too - delicious, filling and varied home cooked meals! A surprise each day to wake up to. For a cosy night in Anna & Tony can also provide a 2-course dinner. Which we topped off with star gazing and roasting marshmallows around the outdoor fire.

We have just finished our second stay at Straw House and it feels like we have left family! Anna and Tony are amazing hosts and their bnb is exceptional in all aspects. Our 4 year old and 19 month old absolutely adored the chickens and alpacas, the food Anna and Tony cook is mouth watering and their warm reception makes us never want to leave! we will be coming back again and again for sure. Autumn stayed in August 2020 (booked via this website) Wow!!!! Special place yes, but more importantly exceptionally very special hosts Anna and Tony. Along with all their beautiful fur babies the Straw Houses felt like coming home. The best breakfast on both days, scrumptious!!!!! The Straw Houses are on the doorstep to all the beauty the Stanthorpe region has to offer. Thank you for a special way to celebrate my belated birthday 🙂💜

Terri Dempsey-Ceh stayed in July 2020 (booked direct) We have just arrived home from a sensational 4 days staying out at The Straw House. Anna and Tony were fantastic hosts, very accommodating, hospitable and there to help with all of our needs. We will be back to spend more time at this well located property, the rooms were cosy, especially with the Sheridan sheets and bath towels, the bathrooms were filled with beautiful Washpool products and the breakfasts each morning were next level tasty! We had the pleasure of having an open fire in the big straw house and also enjoyed the company of both Anna and Tony as we all chatted and enjoy a locally made vino 🍷

And, Hugo Blonde, Stanley Brown the two beautiful house dogs were absolutely adorable and so well behaved 🙌 We also feed the hairy cows, which I have wanted to do for along time. We made some great memories out here with our close friends and fantastic hospitality from Anna and Tony 🙌

Tim stayed in July 2020 (Booking.com) “The host Anna was very accommodating and friendly. The straw house was very warm at night with no heating required after you go to bed. The bed was comfy and being vegan, were surprised by the homemade vegan cookies on arrival. The host also made us a vegan breakfast!! We got to experience patting and feeding the highland cows that live on the property and pat the owners 2 labs! The property is located approx. 10 mins from Stanthorpe town centre and about a 2.5 hour drive from Brisbane. There was plenty to do around the area also!”

Thank you Anna and Tony for your embracing welcome to not only Steve and I, but also my daughter and 14 month old granddaughter. I think our puppies had the best time! Whisky and Soda our labs loved the space, company of Hugo and Stanley, and your accommodation - particularly the fireplace! Breakfast was spectacular! Dinner was superb! Above all you generously recognised Steve's birthday weekend with a beautiful personal touch.

We have just returned from a wonderful weekend away in Stanthorpe and surrounds, staying at The Straw House B&B. Anna and Tony could not have been more wonderful hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and they were more than friendly and helpful and happy to chat. Each morning a delicious hot, home cooked breakfast was delivered to the room. The property was perfect for a wander at any time of the day or afternoon, which meant we spotted birds, rabbits and the gorgeous highland cattle, that are hand fed every afternoon with an invitation to join in. The accommodation is at the gateway to the granite belt and literally around the corner from award winning wineries and Sam's the fruit and vegetable shop. We decided to drive back to Warwick on the Old Stanthorpe Rd, which had no traffic and really lent itself to the 'Sunday country drive'. We had the most wonderful weekend away in the straw cottage, it was warm and welcoming and comfortable, with beautiful quilts and a homely feel, with the welcome treat of chocolate brownies and an eclectic range of reading materials if you came empty handed. I wish we had more time to explore the beautiful Granite Belt region, but no doubt we will be back, and we know where to stay. 

Rachel stayed in June 2020 (Airbnb) “Charming private cottage-style studio bnb. You share a very thick wall so would never know others were there unless you wanted to. Anna and Tony are friendly and down to earth with a lovely property and they are good cooks! Hot breakfast is served to your cottage studio on a tray so great for people like us who prefer privacy on a couple's weekend away. Location is near the main highway but cottage walls are very thick and noise will not disturb you. Heating is via an electric fireplace but Anna and Tony are happy to light the outdoor fire pit if real flames are a must.

Cindy stayed in May 2020 (Booking.com) “Wonderful accommodating hosts. The grounds and orchard are lovely for an afternoon walk and our room was exceptional. The breakfast makes you wish you were staying another night and the attention to detail makes this an exceptional B & B to stay in. Would recommend to anyone, at any time, for any reason. We left feeling valued as guests and would definitely stay again if the opportunity arose. Thank you guys. 10/10 🙂

It was so warm and inviting and you made us feel so welcomed. The food was delicious, nothing like a home cooked meal. Cooper is still pining for the sheep doorstop but you can’t have everything. They welcome you personally, are full of knowledge of the area and local restaurants (though they haven't even been running the place for more than 6 months) and offer extra services like a baby bed just out of gratuity. We've had the most pleasant stay walking around the apple orchard and a wonderful night sleep in a very comfortable bed. The breakfast deserves a special mention as it's served personally to you with no effort spared. A service bar none, the hosts really go above and beyond.”

Annie stayed in November 2019 (Airbnb) Fantastic hosts with a gorgeous Bed and Breakfast. Anna is very welcoming with an immaculately clean property, beautiful amenities and an absolutely glorious breakfast of local produce, house baked bread and even fresh eggs from the onsite chickens! The two gorgeous doggos really make the place feel like home as well. A tiny gem in Dalveen, we can't wait to visit again and spend a bit more time in the area.

A great coffee machine, milk in the fridge with fresh cookies when we arrived was a lovely touch. The breakfast they provided was next level good!! A smorgasbord of things to taste & snack on in the morning. Not to mention the best omelette I’ve ever had!! They were friendly & personable hosts who went the extra mile to make our stay great! Would definitely stay again. The dog friendly element was exactly what we needed too. Thanks again for a great stay!!
